The Pakistan Japan Cultural Association (PJCA) welcomed Ms. SATO Takako, First Secretary and Head of the Public Affairs Section, and Ms. OKAMOTO Yu, Third Secretary and Deputy Head of the Public Affairs Section, on their arrival in Pakistan.

An introductory meeting was hosted by Ms. Sato at a local hotel in Islamabad on September 29, 2026. Mr. Jamal Shah, President PJCA, conveyed PJCA’s best wishes to Ms. Sato and Ms. Okamoto and assured them of the Association’s full cooperation and support during their tenure in Pakistan.

During the meeting, Ms. Sato appreciated PJCA’s initiatives, particularly the PJCA International English Haiku Contest 2026, for promoting haiku and contributing to cultural exchange between Pakistan and Japan.

Mr. Jamal Shah President PJCA presented a book “Remains of the Ruins” an artistic tribute to Hiroshima and Nagasaki to Ms. Sato. PJCA looks forward to continued cooperation with the Embassy of Japan in Pakistan in promoting friendship, cultural understanding, and people-to-people relations between the two countries.
